Ported Vacuum Switch Question

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about these. On my 86 Firebird;305 carb, Code H engine there are two of these vacuum swithes. One is in the thermostat housing, the other is installed in the intake just to left of this. I broke the one in the intake while changing the thermostat. I have looked all morning at the different parts store web sites and the ones they show match the switch in the therm housing. Both switches have two ports, and are both black. My question is why does my switch in the manifold not have what appears to be that little "bleed-off ?" Even though I have owned this car since new, I can't be 100% sure I didn't change this switch at some time, I don't recall.
Any body change theirs? The part # from Auto Zone E923; Advance #EC940.
Thanks for any help
Joel
