Is this the EST wire?

Can anybody help with identifying these two wires? I'm trying to set the timing on a 1985 2.8 without A/C, but I'm having a problem finding the EST wire.

Also, behind the distributor there is an additional brown connector matching the one in the picture...its the female connection only. Any ideas what that might go to? It's coming out of the main wiring harness.

Well, it's not the EST wire....I found that after the pic was taken. Wonder what these wires are for?
