Need help picking parts for spring upgrade
When I swap out of xr276 cam to my custom Lloyd Elliot cam, I am upgraing my springs to withstand Lloyd's cam. I found a set of Isky springs that fit within the recommendations of Lloyd, but I am not sure what else should be and needs to replaced. Even if the retainers need to be replaced, how am i going to know which ones to get?
Here is a link to the springs I am looking at ISK-8005-A
Lloyd wont/cant give me the full specs of the cam, however, he said he is going to give me a 230/236 with .575- .600 lift or so

Re: Need help picking parts for spring upgrade
its always a good idea to use new lifters with a cam swap, i also would get new pushrods, since there sorta cheap, be sure to get the proper length rod though, if your new lifters are taller/shorter than the ones your replacing. the new cam lift alone shouldnt through valve geometry off too much by itself, as far as the retainers, i dont think it would be super crucial to replace those, but you could just call isky and see if your original ones would do the job. be sure to use plenty of cam break in lube on everything you replace, happy motoring
