My car ran over me

My car just ran over me while I was under the hood. I've been having intake probems from a cracked gasket. I was chillen under the hood with my ebrake on when the **** took off on me. I got out of the way but it still hit me a bit

Re: My car ran over me

So was the car running? Did it just start to roll? Fell off jack? You make it sound that like one of those evil ghost cars in a b-movie.

Seriously...I know you didn't mean it like that but what happened?

Re: My car ran over me

Thee-brake only holds at idle ata little above. It does not STOP thecar, regardless of throttle. Obviously, you were playing with the throttle or you hit it/thecable in some way. It's not gonna move on its own. Or the e-brake cable suddenly snapped.

Either way, leavig the car in Drive & getting out?

Re: My car ran over me

why didnt you just put it in nutural and put the ebreak on? thats what i do. if its an auto i put it in park. sheesh. people these days. if i were to put the car in gear. i would jack up the rear of the car so the tires were off the ground.

Why dont you spend your money fixing the bad gasket instead of wasting it on sucker gas and oil. You never leave a running car in gear and get out of it!

Re: My car ran over me

sometimes the car will only show a problem when the motor is under the strain of the ground it wont do it in neutral or of the ground thats why you find a sturdy wall and put it in reverse also jacking up the car and putting it in drive is kinda scary too but i have done it to diagnose rear end problems or other drive train problems

Re: My car ran over me

to do some adjustment and tests it is useful to be in drive that way you have load on the engine. especially adjusting the idle screw on a carb. now i doubt it needed to be in this instance but we werent there to know for sure but if u must put it in drive its best to have someone in the car depressing the brakes....or at least do the ebrake and chock the tires...and DO NOT REV THE ENGINE.....so everyone stop acting like its the dumbest thing in the world to have a car in drive.....weve all done dumb ****, my advice Raz dont post ure mistakes unless u need help fixing them becaue there are alot of asses on here that think they are gods gift to cars...
