Ok, well I drove my share of third gens.

I've driven 305 TBI's 383's, 350's and most of their gas pedals were pretty dang hard. Mine however can be compared to a freaking corolla. The pedal is soft and I can push it in without any force. Very light.
Now, I love the hard pedal and I've read about springs or such, but never really understood what needs to be done.
I've read that this is how they are supose to feel, but man I just don't like it.
Is there a remedy??

I assume this is on the car under your name, with a 305TPI. The only gas pedal return spring is the one on the throttle body. If you watch it with someone pressing the gas pedal, you'll see what I'm talking about. For a stiffer pedal, you could probably add another return spring, between the throttle linkage and the bracket.

Is there a way to make the existing spring a bit harder, can it be replaced?? I searched for any kind of TPI spring, and all I could find people suggesting carb springs, but that made no sense to me as to how it would attach. Anyone have any pics???

Not really, and it's kind of a purpose-made spring, not just a typical return spring. Your local auto parts store should carry a simple carb style return spring, and I would suggest adding that and leaving the existing TPI spring in place.

Oh, I know where it is. I was wondering of how the carb one would hook up. I don't plan on doing anything I know exactly what needs to be done. Thanks for the pic though.

Anyone have any ideas of how to connect a carb return spring to the TB of TPI???
