not sure what is wrong help PLZZZZZZZZZZ

ok while back i had this annoying sound whenever i left off gas or shifted like a rattling i was more then positive it was from the muffler i replaced it flowmaster 80 series and didnt get to drive much cuz i did a motor rebuild due to blown head gasket a week later but i got it back on road now and its doing it again and worse then ever...i have a new cat and muffler new gaskets all around seriously im just stumped on what it is...is it possible the flowmaster 80 series muffler went bad after less then 20 miles????? or could it be something else nothing to do with exhaust i really dont know its annoying and i want to stop it...any suggestions ideas what can be making rattling noise whenever i let off the gas or shift...

i wasnt sure what section to put this in so move it admin if u feel it belongs else where but im not sure if it has anything to do with exhaust or general motor i dont know whats wrong

Re: not sure what is wrong help PLZZZZZZZZZZ

are you sure its not the throwout bearing or possibly the pressure plate, theyll do this on deceleration and shifting, also theres a couple of heat shields under the car that could be rattling.later jimmy

it was the heat shield on the passenger side missing a screw...couldnt get a new one in not enough room to work under there but i was able to take some strong wire and loop it threw and anchor it so it doesnt move

Re: not sure what is wrong help PLZZZZZZZZZZ

well after tryin a few things and getting some info the problem is either the throwout bearing or the pilot bearing but pretty sure its the throw out...goes away when i apply clutch and when i take foot off clutch noise returns...but i only hear the noise after i just drove the car for a little bit and its warmed up...also hearing a lot of noise in 5th gear cruising then i slip it into neutral today and noise continued but it never done that noise in neutral...i cant work on car right now either my bros 1991 nissan 300zx 2+2 non turbo is on jack stands in the garage totally dead...and my dads 57 belair is in the other spot and its no where near finished...so i ganna have to wait prolly 2-3 weeks before i can even get my car in the garage to find out if it is the bearing...real pain in the butt thats for sure...
