Oil pressure switch over ride?

Hello,
I recently installed all new Autometer gauges and I am using the port for the oil pressure switch for my oil pressure sender. The car will still run without that switch, right? Is there a way I can over ride it or should I not even bother? Thanks in advace.

Between the oil pressure gage and oil pressure switch, the switch is the more important of the two.

Either tee the fitting, or use another pressure port for the oil pressure gage.

Re: Oil pressure switch over ride?

When I searched, I found that the switch isn't a safety feature, it's just a backup to the fuel pump relay. Is that incorrect?

Thanks.

If you ECM and your fuel pump relay are happy, you don't need it. If one of them goes on you, you'll wish you had it.

Re: Oil pressure switch over ride?

Can I wire in a 4 pin relay in place of the switch?

What would that accomplish?
