oil pressure concerns

I noticed today on the way home from work that my oil pressure when stopped in heavey traffic was inbetween the 1/4 mark and the 30 psi mark. Also the car's temp gauge was at the 1/4 way mark. Now shes got a giant electric fan on her and no t-stat so she runs cool all the time. It was kinda warm this afternoon (im in SC) too.

Is this anything to be really concerned with?

I mean i after about 30-40 mins i went back out,
1) checked the oil, and the oil level was plenty high. I started her up and was watched the oil psi gauge with the car in PARK and (when shes warmed up) its right at about 30 psi,

2) i listened for any valvetrain nosie (figuring if the oil psi just isn't there anymore the rocker arms oughtta be tapping and clacking) but don't hear anything. Who knows honestly how many miles ar on the engine but I just kinda want so opinions.

I hope this is normal seeing as how i just installed an edelbrock intake/carb/air cleaner ($50 from a friend). I wanna change the oil in her this weekend and try using a can of engine restore too. Obviuosly i'll be lloking for any and all metal shavings too.

A)Do you guys think it might be worth replacing the oil sending unit? To see if that changes the reading?

B)IF this is a little abnormal would it be worth it to try using like a 10w-40 weight oil? or a high mileage engine oil?

I LOVE thirdgens (hence why i bought one as a DD) and don't wanna have to sell her cuz of a toasted engine so anything you guys can pass along is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks

Re: oil pressure concerns

10 PSI per 1000 RPM is more than enough oil.

Re: oil pressure concerns

I'm usually running 18-20 psi at idle after the motor is at normal operating temp, 38-40 psi while cruising. Hottest it's ever gotten is 167 degrees, normally 160 all the time...
