Weird, very intermittent problem. Low idle, fans on...?
This usually happens to me every so often. And I can't figure it out. It never happens on a fresh start for the day, only if it's restarted. Anyway, you know how when you pull your codes, your fans automatically kick on no matter what?
Well I go out, fire her right up. Then I turn it off and restart it 5 minutes later. As soon as I restart it, I hear my fans come on, and the car is idling at 500 rpm and choppy (car was lucky to be at 120 degrees). No SES light or codes. Then I try to restart, and either it will idle again at 500, or start and stall. Then I let it sit 10-15 more minutes, and it fires perfect and idles at the 1000 cold, 750 warm in park.
I know for a fact the car is not throwing any codes, even when it was having its little misfit. This is about the third time it has happened to me in four years, so it's very intermittent.
But something is fishy, because everytime it does this, my fans or fan turns on, just like when your pulling codes, and my engine is not even close to hot or warm.

when you are pulling codes , i believe the only fan that comes on is your secondary fan on the passenger side. It is normal for the driver fan to come on after you shut the car off and just restart it though.

Actually, the only fan controlled by the ECM is the primary fan. The secondary is controlled by the heavy duty fan switch or the AC fan press sw. You may have an intermittent problem in your ECM. Verify which fan is coming on. It may be an issue with your AC.
