Cast core roller cam & distributor gear

Transmission: TH350 3000stall
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Cast core roller cam & distributor gear

With a cast core solid roller cam do i need to run a bronze distributor gear or the stock one is ok Cam is Comp cams 12-772-8

i believe the reason for the bronze gear is so that if they decide to start disintegrating, you chew up the gear on the dizzy rather than the cam.

Just call comp cams and they said that cams finishing with a 8 like 12-772-8 are cast and they can be used with the stock distributor gear & fuel pump push rod so no need for the bronze thing.

I agrere call comp cams. sometimes the dist gears are pressed on and are different material than the cam. On my roller cam they asked for a nitrided dist gear for best results.
