1.6 stamped rockers
hey guys did some research (ie: searching) but could find what i was looking for
i have some engine related projects for my car come spring
(serpentine setup, carb rebuilt) so i figured while i have the front an top of the engine torn down i might as well install the cam i bought a couple of years ago, it is just a small cam 204/214 (.420/.442).
now here is my question i was thinkin about putting on some 1.6 rockers while im in there but i think that roller is overkill for my lil 305 but would a set of stamped 1.6 like the ones jegs and summit sell be adequate?? total lift wont exceed .448/.471 will that be acceptable with stock springs and stamped rockers??? thanks guys for the help on this one.

The only issue to watch for is that when you switch to a 1.6 rocker from the stock 1.5 rockers the pushrod moves closer to the rocker stud. You should check for pushrod/ pushrod guide slot ( in the head) interference on all cylinders by bumping the motor over with the starter motor with all the valve properly adjusted and observe the pushrods travel in the slot in the cylinder head. Check all the pushrods for interference contact. As long as the pushrod does not contact the inside edge of the slot you're fine.
If it does, you have to lengthen the pushrod guide slot in the head.
This can be done with the heads on the motor but requires removing the intake manifold.
