Best plugs for 87 TA
What are the best performing plugs for a mostly stock 87 305 TPI. I have just a cold air intake a K&N filter & catback exhaust with an ADS superchip. I had Splitfire Triple Platinums in the car , but they fouled out & a mechanic told me platinum plugs with the small center electrodes like in the splitfire & bosch don't work well in this application.
Should I go with Rapidfires or some type of iridium plug or what? Any help with this would be appreciated!!!

AC Delco R45TS ....good ol' Delco plugs work great. Forget about all the gimmiky fancy plugs stick to the basic cheap stuff that works great.

I have the AC Delco plugs in now, maybe I'll try the rapidfires next time around. I'm thinking an MSD ignition box would be a bigger improvement than just some fancy plugs.

From what i hear, top fuel dragsters run original champion spark plugs, and i'm sure if there was a single horsepower to be gained from one of those $10 spark-plugs they'd use them. Like i say i don't really have proof to back up my opinion, but from my past experiences the only difference i noticed from using NGK iridiums is a smoother idle. And dem plugs aint cheap, i'm certain that just a OEM-style plug will benefit almost if not as much as any other.

An ignition system will definatly give you a performance increase over any plug alone.
