Throttle problem
My check engine light was coming on, and I was smelling gasoline around the car, it turned out to be a bad TPS. They replaced that on Wednesday.
Thursday, the car drove great, no gas smell. Accelerated great.
Friday, the throttle is acting much different. When I push the accelerator all the way down, or even most of the way down, the car doesn't accelerate at all. This happens at pretty much any speed. I'm going 30 mph, step on the gas hard, and 10 seconds later I'm up to 35 mph. If I start to let off the accelerator, then it speeds up. But I can't get that fast acceleration anymore. If I fiddle with where I hold the accelerator, I can get a moderate acceleration at best. Speed is no problem, I can still get it up to 70+.
If I drive it that way with the accelerator all the way down for more than a few seconds, I think I can smell exhaust.
What do you think is going on?
