What do yo think about comp cams splid roller lifter...They say that they where not desing to use on sustained idle,are they streetable,do i will get 50 000km from them?

I would think that anything that couldn't be used on a sustained idle wouldn't be considered streetable.

The endurex where too expensive,If i use a small file i can probably make my own oil groove what do you think guys?

Is there truth to the saying that solid roller lifters aren't designed for the street, and that it isn't 'if' the break, but 'when'? One of the gearheads here at work was saying that, and somethign about no matter how much lubrication they get, they always break at some point. He also said trying to put an oil groove on them wouldn't be a good idea.

It's doubtful weather you would be able to file it since it is more than likely hardened. You could use a dremel with a small cut-off wheel and cut some grooves in like the Endure-X lifters. Cut the groove at a similar angle - this helps to direct oil towards the critical inner axle/bearing area. Keep the groove depth and width small, so it doesn't bleed off too much oil pressure.

RB83L69, that tool is meant to increase lubrication for a flat tappet cam/lifters, and wouldn't help to lube the roller lifter's bearing.

Smoktire, what is the profile of the cam you plan on using, and more importantly, what induction system, manifold etc.?

The tool makes essentially the same groove as what you see on that lifter. Yes, it's not the greatest thing for oiling the bearings; but it's better than nothing.

I d'ont whant to mess with the lifter bore..Lifters are less expensive then the block.For the cam i got the extreme energy XR286R 248-254@.050"duration & i will use 1.6 rockers so the lift will be .614"-.620" lift match with the set of edelbrock victor jr pn:77599 with a super victor intake.This engine will see both street & strip.

Running junkyard engines are frequently less than $500 CDN, bare blocks are anywhere from $50 to $200 depending on condition, etc.
