I searched and didn't find anything, so I guess this will be the best place to post this:

I need to tow my thirdgen, and I'm looking for a trailer to rent so I can tow it with my Explorer. (uhaul won't rent behind and explorer) If I can't find a trailer, I can use a tow dolly, but from what I hear you have to disconnect the driveshaft, right? Is this still true with a standard transmission?

It depends how far you need to tow the car. Usually you can leave the drives shaft in and tow in N for 20 miles safely.


But your going to have the front of the car up on the raised dolly, whats the big deal about 4 bolts?

It's no big deal, really. Just wondering if it was necessary with a manual, that's all.

And, yeah, it's a long tow. MA to NC...

that`s along drive with a dolly....why don`t you just pay a transporter to drop it off at an auction parking lot?....they could leave the keys at security...you could get it moved for about 300
