Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed?
There are a lot of posts on other boards that are not specifically related to the specific fora. There are questions about timing chains and VSS circuits on the TBI Board. There are posts about camshafts and dash instruments on the TPI Board. These would probably get more appropriate attention on the General Engine or Electronics Boards, and would certainly make any archive searches much easier. Would you search the TBI board for problems with the air conditioning? Or the Appearance Board for suspension problems? Some of questions in these posts are not specifically confined to a particular fuel system and might not be getting the best exposure on those boards. I understand that some other boards may get very busy and congested, but there are many sections of the site that specifically relate to different types of problems and questions.

That's what happens when you take a vacation and don't post for a while Jeff. All hell breaks loose.
Actually, what I am noticing MORE is that people are posting the same question on multiple boards.
"No, your cassette player is not controlled by your ECM".

I usually try to keep my questions in the groups they belong in. You get more help that way. I wasn't doing that at first, but now I do.

I think people just post stuff where ever they want to, especilly some of the newer members, no offence to anyone or anything intended.
And why can't we have a non-tech board on this site anymore? Sometimes I think it'd be nice to have a place on this site to talk sports, school, careers, politics, girls, ect, why did we get rid of that one?

not that im perfect but the only thing that i see every single day that just pisses me off is on the power adder board, 'how much nitrous can my 305 handle?' and other random things that are specifically covered by tech articles or were asked just days before and are most likely on the front page of topics.. dont want to complain, this site is too nice to complain about much of anything, just my two cents - oh yea, im guessing a moderator will read this again, but i emailed dirk a copy(i typed it) of the june 1982 comparo of the camaro and mustang.. will he put it up as he gets time, or does he not post magazine articles? i thought i had read a few (mag articles) before here, so thats why i sent it to him, i guess he's too busy to reply to emails, as i have wrote him in the past about things, or he just feels if he responds to one, he should respond to all(not b1tching at all, just saying).. anyhow, just my two humble cents on the topic

Just buy the damn thing!!!!! Unless your making 350+ HP, you're not gonna notice a difference. But they sure aren't gonna hurt either. Plus they last forever. Also, any Rolls Royce, comes stock with one, so they gotta be good quality.
I noticed Snuf is wanting to make a FAQ about TBI, TPI, ETC. If you want some flow #s on K&N filters compared to Fram, AC Delco, Motorcraft, etc., I have them for 14"x4" round.

I don't know about everyone else's section, but in the V6 section, we use it as kind of a sanction from everyone else. I welcome almost any and all ?'s in there, and most of the guys get along well and don't fight like I see on some other posts. Doesn't really bother me if I see an AC post or a Diff post in there....we're all there to help each other out. Although if I can't find the answer there, I do turn to the proper section, but most of my ?'s have been able to be answered there. Too bad a couple of you don't have V6's, you'd be a huge help Vader, Ede, Glen (whom frequents the V6 section), GMTech.....and others.....

as for the non tech macgyver has agreed to host all the non teck from this site at www.nethirdgen.org dirk doesn't want the problems associated with it here any longer. i'm so tired of answering the same questions and of people asking questions they should know the answer to if they're asking the question.

OK, I confess to posting the same question to TPI, Tech/General, and to Electronics. I noticed that when I ask an electronics question on the Electronics board, I get zero responses, but I do get responses in Tech/ Gen and the TPI board, even for an electronics question. We do what we must.

I dunno... I personally think there are too many separate sections. I'm trying to remember back before the change on this board, and I believe most questions were asked under the regular ol' Tech section (as opposed to the non-tech section). Sure, posts would disappear just as quickly as they went up, but it was easier for everyone to have a look at what you were posting. Seemed more people were able to answer your posts then. Oh well... - John '89 L98

Yea, the topic specific forums have become pretty broad. I don't think it's really hurting this site but it does get a little annoying. But we just have to remember to be patient. We were all newbies at once. (Except for Vader, he was born knowing everything, lol )

Yeah 89 L98, but now it is more organized, u can go into a topic and know what u can ask and what to look for instead of having lots of different kinds of things being posted. I liked the other way too, but this is also cool.

There are 18 Tech boards... How am I supposed to scan all of them?
I don't mind helping where I can but I'm not going to spend 2 hours of my day going through each board. That's why people post messages about their error codes in the general tech board.
The boards are too specific. The guys in the TPI board probably know the answers to the questions in the TBI board but how likely are they to look in there? I don't... and no one else does either... that's why people get frustrated and post their questions in the most looked at board.

I think the appearrence and detailing boards should be combined, The aftermarket product and aftermarket vendor boards should be com bined and the TPI and TBI boards should be combined into a fuel injection board. just my 2cents.

Appearance and Detailing is combined already.
Even when we had just the Tech Board, (which is now Tech/General Engine, so if u do searches u will find lots of information) there was still alot of other boards.

Did I say that some airhead asked about a 5" K&N? No. It's just that I'm sold on the things, and I guess I forget that some people don't know that much about them. Sorry.

BTW, I'm not into that sort of thing. I'm not an alternative kinda guy. And my 5+ inches fits just fine under my wife's hood. Thanks anyway though.

I meant The appearence and body boards. I have never seen someone ask the question of whether it would fit under a 2-1/2 cowl. You dont have to make me look stupid by making a comment saying that you didnt realize some people were airheads about K&N's. If someone asked if there new holley intake would fit under there cowl hood they wouldnt be ostracized(sp?).

I WASN'T REFERRING TO YOU!!!!! I didn't even read your post!!!! What I meant by that last "airhead" comment was that I never critisized anyone for asking. The dumbest question is the one never asked!!!! The whole thing was just my way of recommending that they post a tech article on the K&N filters!!!!! That's all. That's why I asked if they wanted the flow chart I have on K&N filters. It's actually pretty impressive.
Would you just let it rest and quit being so defensive!!!!! Go to bed. Tomorrow's another day.
