sputtering at wot

My car is sputtering at wot when i launch off the line and when downshifting to first but other than that it runs great. I have a built 350 in an 87 IROC with the stock 305 tpi. It didnt start this until i had recently had seals replaced in my 700R4. The engine was tuned and running great until i had the transmission worked on. I dont know a whole lot about engines but i know most of the basics. I have changed plug wires checked all vacuum (sp) lines, etc. Even the guy at the shop wasnt sure what it could be. Any ideas would be helpful

update

Well i talked to my mechanic today and we checked my fuel pressure again. It was about 35 psi with the car off, which he said was low but fine. We started the car and it stayed at about 35 but then when we reved it in neutral it dropped like 3 psi with the throttle open then went back up when closed. He put it in drive and it dropped like 6 psi while "power braking" it. He said he was pretty sure that it was the fuel pump so he said he could change it for $230, as long as i bought the pump. I was just wondering if this would make sense, and if that was a decent price. Its an 87 so the pump is in the tank and he said he would probably have to drop the rearend.

Well, i my problem was solved. It was a bad fuel pump. I now have a 35 psi idle and 50 wot. I bought a holley high flow pump for 180 but at least i wont be havin that done again for a while. I also got it put in for $150 so i saved quite a bit there

glad you got it fixed I'm also glad that you posted what the fix was. So many times I've used the search feature, and I'll stumble on a post that has a problem exactly like mine, and the person wont say what the fix was. Drives me nuts! lol.
