How to connect PCV to open element?

I got the edelbrock open element air cleaner today, and it has an adapter for the PCV valve. I was looking at it and can't figure out how it is going to work. Any help is appreciated.

The PCV valve does not go to the air cleaner.

The PCV valce should connect to manifold vac. at the base ofm the carb.

The kit they give you is for the breather hose from the other side valve cover. I usually just throw that away and run a push in breather.

not necessarily, in fact i will never run another pcv to manifold vacuum. it sucks the valve cover gaskets in and causes a huge vacuum leak. not to mention its completely unnecessary to have that much vacuum in the crankcase. your only removing blow by gasses, and if you have a breather on the opposite valve cover you would have plenty of airflow to remove them.

I won't get into an argument over proper PCV systems...what ever works for you is what you need.

Think about this though.....if you don't need that much pressure vented out of the crankcase..why do Pro Stock and a TON of other class drag racers run versions of air pumps set up to suck the gasses out of the crankcase?? How ever small (not that it matters on the street) the gain is, crankcase pressure costs horsepower.

Besides, PCV is a regulated vac. leak, it doesn't make the car run any worse. I can't say I've ever seen a valve cover gasket suck in because of a PCV valve...hmmmm

Just my opinion...

Failing to Run an active PCV system will result In Super acclerated Oil fouling, and Decreased Engine LIfe, Just ask Vader

Thanks for the replies. In the first post I should have said the pcv breather, not valve. I think I'll get the aftermarket one, but they confused me when they started talking about drilling holes and stuff.
