car has idle and runnin issues
just bought an 88 formula, supposedly only 60k on it, (looks it too) sad part is some idiot threw paint thinner at the hood and door and has a few key marks, and 2 apparently bullet holes in passenger door, (did not go to inside). and there is one broken
t-top. body is otherwise straight
anyways, start the car comes to idle for a few seconds and dies, to move the car around you have to pedal it. havent had a real chance to look at injector spray or anything but at the moment its screaming fuel pump in my mind, as ive been involved with 2 blazers that had fuel pump issues and exibited similar characteristics although not nearly as bad. also the exhaust is done at the end of the cat currently rusted completely away so im sure this is having an effect how much i do not know.
does that seem like a fair diagnosis of a bad fuel pump?
also whats the going rate for a t-top glass?
btw the car has the lo3 throttle body

You might get better answers on the TBI forum, but check the fuel pressure. Might be a bad reg rather than a bad pump.

noticed tonight that the pump runs but sounds a bit ragged, although it has very little fuel in it at the moment
a throttle body rebuild is gonnna happen so the reg diaphragm will get replaced, hopefully the spring isnt broken like my bud blazer s was

it seems to have done the trick outside of still needing a standard tune up and such the car has 60k on it, and nothing has been replaced at this point so it needs plugs wires cap rotor etc.........
thats all gotta wait untill spring now though as winter is all but here in good old iowa so the car is in storage
heres a pic just before we packed her away in the garage
the primered areas are where the paint was gone due to the aforementioned paint remover incident while with the previous owner, the hood had to have so much sanding done to remove the rust that we just did the whole thing,
and yes i have the original wheels but the tires on them will not hold due to punctures(at least 4 each in the rear tires) from what appeared to be about awl sized object in the side wall
