stock retainters vs aftermarket
I am replacing my stock retainer setup with an aftermarket Comp Cams one (#742)
My question is that the stock setup includes a cap that fits over the spring as well as the retainer itself. The Comp cams retainer doesn't allow the use of the spring cap. Is it necessary?
It appears that the Comp retainers are a bit larger than the normal ones and appear to cover the top of the spring just fine. I want to make sure though...

The funny thing is that I replaced the valve stem seals on the drivers side and will do the rest by tomorrow night.
I didn't think anything of it until this morning, when I had a lot of time to think on my commute into Minneapolis.
That is what I thought Ede...thanks...
