long time since oil change

its been a while since this car has had an oil change, probably about a year or so. the oil pressure idles at 45 and fluctuates to 60. would old/dirty oil cause high psi? also, a friend told me its real bad for a car to completely change the oil if it's been a long time.. is there any truth to this?

i think tomorrow i will get a full change with mobil1 and a new filter..

Sludge buildup can cause high pressure readings. I would get as much of that crap out of the motor as soon as possible.

Why it's been that long since your oil was changed, I don't know but, I'd change it, run it a couple hundred miles, and change it again to get the sludge out.
