how high can i rev my 383

I'm ready to fire up the 383 for the first time, I'd know to know what chip to put in the MSD rev limiter. It an 87 L98. scat 9000 crank, TRW rods, Keith Black 10.75 CR pistons, heavily ported L98 heads, 2.02 intake and 1.8 exhaust i think. !.5 rockers, 590 lift cam, not sure on the duration. edelbrock performer rpm intake, and 770 holley street avenger.

run it and see where it quits pulling and use a chip with that rpm or one slightly higher. if you're wanting to be safe for the break in try a 4500

you have way more cam than head's, i'd say no more than 6200, but use a 6500 limiter.

You need to find out what your cam duration is becasue that will tell you the power band and rpm range of teh cam.

Car: Huffy 10 speed ;)
Engine: My legs
Transmission: My wrist
Axle/Gears: Little spokey things
If you're worried about the crank or rods, you'll be good to 7000 rpm easily. In your set up, the pistons are your weakest link and rpms don't affect them as much, so a conservative estimate is 6500 rpms. Double check the camshaft/rod bolt clearance before you crank it, I built one twice.
