Firebird questions

Alright, yeah, my V6 Camaro bit the dust. We got the whole thing put together. Started it up, still problems with transmission (wouldn't go above 10 mph downhill), so we parked it in the driveway and left it running. Odd popping sounds started up, coming from the engine, revved it a little, and the car stalled. Couldn't revive it after that. So we said screw it, we were done with it. Too many problems. Exhaust Manifolds were blown, too. Red hot.

"Hey, look bro, my engine is glowing!"

Went to look at the classifieds today for a new car, spotted a 1991 Pontiac Formula with T-Tops. I'm trying to figure out if only the Formula's were Z28 Trans Ams, or did Formula's come with the Firebird RS? The description for the ad is as follows:

V8, auto, ps, pb, air, TMU, p-locks, p-windows, cruise, tilt, am/fm cassette, air bag, alloy wheels.

So, with that information, do I have a Trans Am Formula Z28, or is there a regular Firebird RS Formula? Thanks guys.

the formula was a firebird w/0 ground effects but with the TA wraparound spoiler. If it's a TPI and in good shape it's prob a nice car.

Thats a formula. Like no1kicker said, if it is a tpi (tuned port injection) thats a plus. If you dont know what a tpi unit looks like its the rectangular shiny thing with metal tubes coming out of it. This is Blurr's engine. Hope you dont mind that I used it blurr :P
