Non-thirdgen but GM question....
I know this may belong in the tranny section, but responses are so slow over there and I'm kinda stuck.
I have an 82 Blazer with a TH350 tranny. Just bought the thing, and I knew it had a tranny leak.
The tranny shop I use told me $250 to replace the front seal, pump seal, the transfer case seal and some misc. O rings. They fix it, drive it off of the ramp and no problems. I drive it two miles and it leaks again.
Turns out the holes are stripped and won't hold a torque, and to worsen the problem, the case is cracked where one of the stripped bolt holes for the pump is at!
So, can the case be fixed or do I need to buy another tranny from a junk yard?
