Burnt Spark Plug Boot

Just replaced the 90 deg boot for the second time in the last six months. Anyone else having this problem with SLP headers and the #8 Plug boot being burnt though?? Also anyone using the LT-1 metal spark plug shields
to prevent this?? And will they fit?? Appreciate any info thanks.

No, regular A/C Delco plugs. And just this one plug location.

Well, I have SLP headers and had the same problems. I bought a set of NGK-UR5 plugs from Fleet Farm. They are shorter, one heat range colder and problem solved.

What AC plug are you using? I've got R45TS on mine and have had no problems with the boots burning through in over a year with my non-coated SLPs. I replaced plug wires with my Edelbrocks like crazy though.
