High RPMs?
Check my signature for my current set up.
I had this problem before I did all of the work this past weekend, so whatever my problem is, it's consistent.
Here's what happens:
After driving for a while, the RPM rises up to almost 1,500 rpm. Now if I don't drive it to get it warm, but get it completely warmed up, it doesn't do this, at least not to the same extent.
I had an air/fuel gauge that appears to be working, and the air/fuel mixture doesn't appear lean like it would if I had a vac leak.
The timing initially set at 8*.
This idea just came to me, what if it is the timed vac port that the vac advance is hooked up to? Could that be the problem perhaps? I'll disconnect it tomorrow and see how it goes.
Any other ideas?

look at my sig if you need a laugh. The problem is caused my the throttle kicker for the a/c. If you unplug it it should go away. I know this isn't a fix but it is a good test. It seems that these cars were designed to keep the idle up if say you stepped on the clutch at high speed to ensure that the engine wouldn't stall. It isn't supposed to stay up once you decellerate to a certain speed (i think 15 mph). It will also stay up if the throttle kicker is adjusted too high. If i set it for say 1300 rpm it will drop down after a second or two, if its at 1500 it will just stay up. I don't know if its because of a fault or a design flaw. I'm still working on it my self. It never did this with the stock lg4. I think part of the problem is that the idle speed is inconsistant with a bigger cam.

My a/c isn't hooked up at all. There is nothing controlling the throttle other than the throttle cable going to the pedal.
