What is this?

L69 or LG4.

It's an 84 block, so there are supposedly different pistons.

He's wondering if that means it's an L69 or LG4.

I'd guess L69.

Flat tops. Yet I have an engine code H on the block. Everything else said L69 and I had originally thought that it was an L69.

Then I popped the heads off today and see the relief valves and for some reason I didn't think there were supposed to be any.

I did a search on the board and lots of people said H engine code is LG4 and nobody disagreed.

That's why I thought I'd double check. Not that I could do anything about it..........

I was a little surprised about the amount of carbon in there, but the cylinder walls look very good. The #7 cylinder I was worried about because I had a spark plug that had been deformed once in that cylinder, but it looked perfect.

So I am slapping on some World Torquer 305 heads, some SLP headers, a 3" cat and a 3" Hooker cat back. I already have a Comp Cams XE 262, performer carb, jacobs pro-street ignition, roller tip rockers and some other junk.

This thing should really wake up with the new breathing capabilities huh?
