Cylinder head porting pictures for AFR195

Thought you guys might want to see my ongoing tests of the Air Flow Research AFR195's. I bought a set, and I'm doing extensive flow testing as I go about modifying them myself.

I'm pretty impressed on how well these heads flow, and it surprises me how hard it is to find additional air flow. However, I've increased air flow a couple percent without seriously increasing port volume.

Anyway, FWIW, here's the page, complete with a spreadsheet of flow data:

http://www.ws6transam.org/afrheads.htm

I'm not done yet! My goal is an ideal 75% I/E flow ratio, with a airflow that exceeds AFR's "street-port" advertised flow numbers.

Cheers,

Daniel Burk

Nice job of documenting your project ! What are your plans for
a rear end that will live behind that monster motor ?

Two words:

Slippery tires!

Naw, seriously, I installed a heavy duty Gleason Torsen differential, Richmond gears, and Moser 28-spline axles into the rear-end. Coupled with a T/A stud girdle, the rear should hold up to most everything but the hardest launches. I'll keep away from slicks. If I start seeing 1.6 second 60-foot times, I will buy the Moser 12-bolt. However, I will probably nurse along the 10-bolt by sticking to Drag Radials and keeping away from nitrous. There's a lot of 10-bolt equipped eleven second rides out there...
