Please Help, my engine is stalling

I put a new 383 cid in my 1988 GTA (700R4) after it sat for 3 years in my garage and it is throwing a code 24 only when I put the car in gear. When I try to give it some throttle, the car starts to go and then dies within a few feet and acts it has no fuel and that is when the code sets. However, when I put it in neutral the engine revs smoothly to 5000 rpms with no problem. I put a new: walbro 255 l/hr pump,a hotwire kit from racetronix, a new fuel pressure regulator and a new fuel filter. The fuel pressure is steady 42 psi w/vacuum line on and 50 psi with it off. The new injectors are 28 # from Lingenfelter and it has a ECM chip for this setup from Performance Resource. When I first got the car running it ran fine for about two miles and this problem started. Since then, I have yet to get it out of my driveway. I believe the problem is in the electronics and not mechanical but I do not know how a code 24 VSS would effect how the engine runs. BTW, the spedo works fine. I have done a search on this board and have found several people that had a problem w/performance or the engine dieing and a code 24 setting but I can't find a post where they tell what they did to fix the problem.

I have checked all the grounds at the back of the heads and they are tight. The battery is in the trunk and it has a 4 gauge ground to the body. The battery connections are tight. The strange thing is it only give me problems when it is in gear, it runs great in nuetral.
