what would YOU do?

Didn't know where to ask this opinion, so I decided general tech should do the trick.

I have just replaced the reinforcement bar and front fascia on my 85 T/A, and now the factory driving lights won't mount correctly to the bar (out of an 84 t/a) and still fit in the cutouts of the facia. (I"m attaching a pic to visualize for you). What I'm thinking of is one of two things. 1.) Buy some aftermarket foglights to fit in the area, or 2.) Creating a cold air induction system using the two foglight cutouts as inlets and running ductwork up to a dual snorkel air cleaner. As of now I'm neutral about either setup and would welcome any opinions and weigh the pros and cons. Thanks everybody!

You didn't mention the other possibility - get the plastic lamp mountings from an '85-86-87 TA from the bone yard. Lacking that, even some custom fabricated sheet metal brackets would hold the lamps in the correct position.

It's not that I don't have the driving lights, brackets and all, because they were on the crinkled reinforcement bar that I removed and swapped with the older '84 version which is wider than the '85-up. This puts the bar about halfway down the openings, even the light without the mounting bracket won't fit there unless I screw it to the fascia itself...that's why I was wondering about aftermarket, maybe those thin rectangle yellow/orange/blue things....

I heard that having the intake openings down that low would invite dust, dirt and grime into the air cleaner more than usual....

And I know, I should have got the right bar....but this one was more available....isn't it funny how our cars seem to get crunched in the FRONT end rather than the sides or back???
