Oil pressure sensor

Hi! I have a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS TBI 5.0L V8. The orginal motor seized up so I bought a used junkyard engine which I had a shade tree mechanic install and he did a decent job! The camaro sat for 5+ years after! So I bought a new battery and decided to start this pig and it started right up but decided to puke it’s oil out through the oil pressure sensor! Well I removed the sensor and put in a new one but as I tightened it it still felt loose like I could wiggle it from side to side. The old one was a little shorter than the new one and this sensor wasn’t located above the oil filter more like to the opposite side of it! Well the problem is it still leaks oil so what can I do to fix this problem?

Re: Oil pressure sensor

How can the location of the sensor change?

Strange that the new sensor is longer than the old one.

The way you describe it, you installed an incorrect sensor into the wrong hole.

PHOTOS, please.

Re: Oil pressure sensor

the sensor should be about 3 or 4 inches long. Yes pictures would help greatly!
