L03 and headers / manifolds
Due the swirl ports head on my L03 require any special consideration (port shape or location) when shopping for headers, or better flowing manifolds?

No. Go with the Hooker 2055 if you need air tubes, if not go with the 2460's like me. And fork the extra money for ceramic coating. I should have.

Re: L03 and headers / manifolds
Good to know. Std. SBC port configuration / shape.
There is a set of used LT1 shorties for sale locally. Has a very D shaped pipe / port. Is this also the "Std." shape, or was this special fro the LT series of engines?

Also plan on picking up a LT1 starter for the heat soak issue you'll begin to have, and some new 90* plug wires

Re: L03 and headers / manifolds
I would assume Hooker has a matched Y-Pipe to work with these headers?

Re: L03 and headers / manifolds
personally, I would try and find a set of used headers cheap that are in decent condition and send them off to be professionally ceramic coated, like jet hot, because I bought mine ceramic coated from hedman and they don't have very much use on them and are rusting up in different spots..

Yes they do.
Well that's you're problem there, hedman that is.

Re: L03 and headers / manifolds
If I can find a solid set used, I'm not against refurbishing them to save a few bucks.
But to Fasts point about budget...I'm inclined to wait and buy some DynoDon's when the time comes. Just want to be able to spot a bargain if I see it.
DynoDon....I like that name!

Re: L03 and headers / manifolds
Ive ran cheap $100 summit headers on several builds and they did well. Used copper gaskets and rarely ever had to tighten them.If you don't put a ton of miles on the car I think they would suit you well. And dang what a boost they add to these choked engines.
