Car: 89 Formula
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 5 Speed
Axle/Gears: Stock
timming procedure for 305 tbi, ???
I had to pull the dist and have never put a light on this car before. please explain the proper timing procedure to me so that my car will run its best. I timed it by ear and it's running great but id rather do it correctly/ thanks, oh engine has around 200k on it, all factory except headers.

I would not waste my time and money on a basic timing gun.
Digital is the way to go.
It will allow you to pinpoint the exact degree of timing.
There will also be a time you will need to know RPM and when you do you will want this gun.
I have it and it makes a basic gun look like a toy
