350-L98-Vortec head swap EFI question
Swapping out my L69 for a 350 build in my 1984 Recaro.
I was originally thinking of keeping the qjet but after some thought I am examining the options for fuel injection.
I understand that swapping over to EFI is probably going to run close to $3000 but if it gives me a smoother running engine, power in the 320hp range and keep the stock "look" with the functional hood scoop air cleaner, I may consider it...
So, my questions are as follows
1- will my stock air cleaner with the functional hood scoop still work with a TBI system?
2- what good options are there for this kind of setup?
Thanks!
Chuck

Many. If you want FI I would strongly suggest port fuel. Intake height would apply.
I was able to purchase aluminum spacers with integral 0 rings at .50 inch for the air cleaner spacing from Jegs. I bet they could easily be machined.
