Hey guys im a new member and new to owning a camaro. I have an 88 gmc sierra 1500 with a 350 tbi what do i need to do a swap? I have a 746 ecm with a streetrunner hypertech stage 1 chip. It has edelbrock headers and 2.5" exhaust all the way back with an h pipe. 700r4 overdrive with a shift kit. It also has a dual snorkel air intake with a modified original air cleaner to fit the snorkel, k&n air filters. What do i need to make this 350 run good? Im going to college in a couple weeks. My uncle is a certified mechanic and he knows how to do the swap and can do it in a couple days. What do you guys prefer to put in the ecm chip wise and anything else to make it run right. Thank you any info helps

I did the swap and the car actually runs amazing I run 89 octane. And get around 19 mpg. I never changed the chip in it so it still has the 305 chip so it runs lean. I'm actually putting a 5 speed in it sometime this spring so I'm thinking I'll need to get a chip for a manual.

I did swap injectors out of the 350 throttle body to my 305 throttle body(cable hook ups were different on the trucks throttle body) and I put a new 350 knock sensor in it. I also used the module out of the 350 distributor. And that's all I needed

cool, thanks for the info. yea im going to get the 350 this week, it surprises me that the 305 prom works with the 350... i was thinking about either going carb, and getting rid of the computer, or go with 454 injectors. before i drop it in im going to get a mild/agressive cam and put in a 2,000 torque converter. im pretty stock now exept for 3'' exaust and hooker headers. but i figure the rear end 3.73 posi is the best way to start and work forward. exept i found a great deal on a rebuild tbi. soon as i can get through the 3 feet of snow i will start this project. im shure there will be many questions as i go lol. o yea, if i stay with tbi, im ganna have the "chip guy" that alot of guys on here recommend make me one.

i did a vortec head and cam swap into a 89 3/4 ton suburban, and the fuel really made it impossible i went with a holley 16 psi external fuel pump, a bigger regulator i forget what size, and 454 injectors. runs pretty good, still slightly on the lean side, but not lean enough to cause a problem, or make it behave badly. it would have been alot easier with a carb....
