Re: what should i set my timing to?

I run mine at 6*and it pulls real nice.I started at 4*to see if there was spark knock .It did not. 6* turned out to be the sweat spot with mid grade fuel.

Re: what should i set my timing to?

since I can read my chip....set base timing to chip... really need to match..

I timed mine by ear which ended up at 14 degrees.......set chip to 14 degrees
also.

Re: what should i set my timing to?

If your tuning is stock and your car is basically stock with the stock heads, set it at 0°. Swirl port heads are fast burn heads and do not nessecitate a lot of intial advance like non SP heads do.

Re: what should i set my timing to?

I found a site that said base timeing is supposed to be 6* it also says idle is supposed ot be 400 rpms and i can't get mine to idle down that low. So which is it? 0 or 6. Also doesn't the idle and base timing correlate? if the idle is fast it throws off the timing???
