my 91 305 TBI camaro wont run for more then a minute.
we have replaced the fuel pump and screen and filter today, nothing has changed, we changed the map sensor too. what else would cause the injectors to stop firing?? both injectors pulse at the same time and keep pulseing until the car dies. please help.

Re: please help!!!
i agree with the above post . same thing happened to me . ck. for spark at plugs after it dies . coils seldom go bad , the ICM , ignition control module inside the dist. does . good luck .

Re: please help!!!
Get the basics down first. FUEL, SPARK, AIR.
What shape are the spark plugs in? Cap? Rotor? Wires?
I would LOVE to try to sell you a set of injectors, but honestly I don't think that's it. Please verify the basics, get the fuel pressure rating.
The injectors are fired by grounding. If you want to send them in to me, I'll be more than happy to test them, make sure they work, and send them back, no charge.
But honestly, I don't think it's your problem.

Re: please help!!!
when it does it. check for spark also. if you have no spark. (remove wire on coil and see if it sparks) and no injector pulse. then its like almost guaranteed to be the ignition control module. now if you decide to change that module. make sure to put dielectric grease on the bottom of it when you install it. because it gets hot and that helps it.

Re: please help!!!
we sell rebuilt injectors we give a lifetime warrantee. We can rebuild just about anything. We do the drop in Bosch III that work well in these cars.
When you say "what injectors" the answer is I can supply any injector application in any impedance, in any size, in any flow, to fit any application.
We also do new injectors. But keep in mind, there's only a handful of manufacturers of injectors:
Bosch, Seimans, Lucas, Denso, Standard, one or two more, it's late. Then there's the chinese injectors...different issue.
There's no such thing as a "FORD" injector it's a bosch. Many people will put their name on an injector and mark the price up. I sell injectors for $75 each that competitors sell for $125 because they engrave their name on it.
Check this thread for more detail:

Re: please help!!!
I have heard early '90s era GM fuel gauge sender/pump
assembly can develop a bad connection where the wires
go in the top and cause intermittant loss of power to
the fuel pump. Also sometimes ECMs can become
intermittant and never set a code....
Run the car till it stops, and as soon as it does, pour a
little gas down the TBI and try to restart-if it does try
to run for a second or two ignition is good and you
will need to check the fuel pressure and injector pulse

Re: please help!!!
this may sound dumb but did you replace the little hose from the fuel pump to the pick up tube? mine was cracked where i couldn't see it and it took me 3 months to trace it. mind you it was outside in the snow. also i believe vats shuts it down after 3 seconds? someone chime in on that subject.... also do you have any big vacuum leaks? does it rev and die? does it start, idle, then wither away? alot of questions but may help someone answer the problem

Re: please help!!!
If your oil presure switch is bad it will shut down the car after 3 seconds. The computer overrides the oil pressure requirement using a relay at initial start-up but if there isn't any oil pressure signal it shuts everything down after 3 seconds.
I think I'm saying this correctly...someone else chime in. Those oil pressure sending units (right back by the distributor) are known to have shorts etc over time.
Just did a quick google search for confirmation...found this right away
