89 Camaro RS 305 Wont start
I have an 89 Camaro RS with the 305 in it. It wont start. It ran about a month ago when I parked it. Now, it will spin over forever. And the "injectors" are spitting as it turns over. It tries to fire and sputters but wont actually start. Any ideas?
Also, Before I parked it, if when driving it tached over about 3000rpm it would start sputtering. I dont know if that helps.
Thanks,
Kevin

check to see if you are getting spark to all the plugs, maybe it just needs a good ole tune up..... BTW NOT USING BOUSH PLUGS

Make sure your #1 is at top dead center, then make sure your rotor is in line with the #1 point on the cap. Your timing chain may be streched too. But if it was running parked you should be fine with timing the distributor.
Check to see that the cap and rotor are clean too.

Ok so I replaced all of the plugs this afternoon and still nothing. it spins over forever and never will fire. The injectors are still spitting and all but it still isnt starting up. IT will sputter but never will fully fire. Any more ideas?

Since you are getting injectors to fire EST module (located inside distributor) is OK. Pull one of the spark plug wires - verify that you are getting spark!
If no spark then:
Check all ignition parts (rotor, cap & HV center contact inside cap) in your dizzy and external ignition coil.
Check the two wire harness between dizzy and coil.
Check HV wire between dizzy and coil - measure wire resistance with a DVM. See if you are getting spark from coil itself - use spark plug tester.
Check all you spark plug wires - measure resistance with a DVM.

Re: 89 Camaro RS 305 Wont start
same thing happened to me.
replaced the cap, rotor and coil and it fixed it. id suggest replacing the wires and plugs too. especially after cranking on it, trying to get it to start; the thing pry flooded itself out and has built up a bunch of carbon gunk on the plugs.

the main thing is make sure you are getting spark at the plugs just cause you replaced them it wont help if your not getting fire there
