Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

Who is interested?

I talked to a regional sales guy with Holley today about setting up an account to order a lot of the correct fittings (including the no longer available pod adapters) and line.

I would precut and assemble the kits for you or ship the hose and fittings for you to assemble at a discount.

How many people would be interested in a complete assembled kit that all you would have to do is hook up? 250-300 bucks?

Do I hear shouting?

Considering I paid less than 200$ for my whole TBI system.....it's a bit steep. With TBI fuel pressures you can get away with FI rubber hose and good clamps just fine.

Re: Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

I re-did the rubber inlet line (from the frame rail to the metal line on the engine) for $50 or so and it wasn't particularly hard. If the $200 covered the entire fuel line setup all the way up to the TBI including provisions for nitrous and an external FPR I think that'd be a pretty good deal, unfortunately I've already done half the work . It'd be good for others looking to replace it though.

Re: Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

Its not cheap, and its not neccessary, but I thought somebody might want em. I think i'm going to tap my POD for 14x1.5 on the return line vs the 12x1.25 since that is the fitting that is impossible to find and the metric to AN fitting i do have seals just fine on the inlet side.

and for 200 I wouldnt be making money considering the cost of the hose and fittings.

with no interest I've let the idea go to have them special order the CORRECT fittings that z28boy found from holley. they had 3 in stock and had them set aside for their tbi truck supercharger kits that they said they sell maybe 20 a year of so I'm sure they'll have to order more eventually.

The fittings that I used:

Holley - 9894DBHERL - -6AN to 14 mm x 1.50
Holley - 9894DBJERL - -6AN to 16 mm x 1.50

Available through Jegs

Re: Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

those I have... those go into the reducers. The threads into the pod itself are 14x1.5 and 12x1.25 --- with the saginaw style viton crush washer seal on the end. I beleive this seal was chosen for its longevity over orings.

with the performer eps the damn vacuum port is directly behind the return line exit so a quick turn is needed and that extra half inch is absolutely needed. I cant used the braided setup i already have because of that vacuum port.

That is a long hard and expensive way to do, it did it all for about $130, with all over the counter fittings, and it clears the adaptor plate and all the vacuum ports on my intake just fine. I also plumbed in fuel pressure test port, and fuel line to my fuel noid for the nitrous. I don't see the point in cutting/welding/brazing and buying parts that aren't easy to get ahold of, when you can do it for less money by just planning everything out and getting over the counter parts.

Re: Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

He was talking $200-$300 for the setup. I got braided line, all the fittings, fuel pressure port, and extra -4an for the nitrous system, all for $130, that is a lot cheapper than $200 and much cheaper than $300. And I did have to modify my TB at all, if I wanted to go back to 100% stock, I could.

Re: Complete Braided Fuel Line Kit - Group Purchase

When i bought all the fittings and line originally it was more than 130. Maybe the price has come down on braided stainless and these fittings. but that doesnt change the fact that the "correct" fittings from metric siginaw to AN fittings are 30 each. Thats where I got the estimate, plus, I wasnt going prefit the line and fittings completely together for nothing. Nobody was interested in a high quality premade setup. I understand. Not everybody can afford 200 for fuel lines. If i were to do it over again, I would have ordered the weld on fittings, the nylon braided hose, less of it, and a few less elbows. I also do not have somewhere local to buy these fittings "over the counter."

Long story short, too late:

The weld on fittings are the cleanest, cheapest way to connect AN to the POD. And the coolest and why would I ever want to go back to stock. If I want a stock thirdgen, I'd drop the ~15k+ on a low mile vert. not put this one back.

Dont worry about putting braided on your car unless you bend and f up your hard lines anyway LOL.
