Car: camaro
Engine: mighty 305
Transmission: mighty 700r
million problems in a week...
okay long story made short.... my car backfires and turns off and wont start between paydays... starter was on its way out already so i replaced it along with ignition module..New cap,rotor,wires,and coil on the way.. Start my car up turns right over but runs only at 12v so we test alternater and never guess what is bad now piece of crap auto light lucky its still under warranty... i am out side with my next door nieghbore and my car is idling funny so he grabs the cap and twist it and it starts running perfect instant timing fix!!!!

It's always the timing.
unless if it's something else
(taught to me by both my sports cars: my eclipse first, then now my camaro)
for a while I thought my bad idling was cause my friend's house was cursed (it always ran rough there.. and nowhere else)
It was retarded 8 degrees... now it's advanced 3 degrees.
now if I can figure out how to hook up a tach, I'll get my idle speed back down to where it's supposed to be (I had to up it so I could time it)

dang this car had more problems.. but i finally got it working... it was a dead battery.. my alternater was actually good.. so i changed my starter,coil,ignition module and battery. again just wanted to say thanks to MIKE.. in phoenix dont know your thirdgen name.. and njspeeder again..:lala:
oh yeha i had a loose wire also grounding out near starter..
