Strut mount alignment

I had my struts and mounts replaced awhile back, and I just noticed today that they are not the same on both sides. The passenger side is centered and the driver side is pushed all the way to one side. Is this an issue? There is a pull to the right even though it's supposedly aligned properly.

And yes, those caps are glued on. He couldn't figure out how to get them into the new mounts.

Re: Strut mount alignment

You have a copy of the alignment after they were replaced?

No, it was awhile back and they never gave me a printout. They blamed the pulling on the Kumho Ecsta tires. I won't be using that alignment shop again.

The man who installed the struts, mounts, and tie rod ends has since retired and closed up shop.

How's the wheel look, with it shoved that far you should have some negative camber which should be plainly visible. If that's proper to spec, which I believe is something ridiculous like 0.3° ±0.5° (-0.2 to 0.7), you've got a problem somewhere.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever noticed adjustable strut mounts on any other vehicle before. Seems like there should be only one way, and that's it.

Nothing really stands out to me as being crooked.

Re: Strut mount alignment

Sounds like you need to go to a better alignment shop. If it's pulling to one side, very likely not the tires.

Re: Strut mount alignment

On my last two Irocs, they weren't identical after alignment. Not quite as different as yours, but noticeable without having to measure. If the car is driving and steering well, not pulling and the tires aren't wearing, I wouldn't worry too much. STILL.....getting another alignment isn't overly pricey. might not be a bad idea.

yeah I have since found another place I prefer, just haven't taken the GTA there yet. It's almost time for tires anyways, since these have some signs of dry rot.
