Strut to spindle bolt size?

I am in the process of buying my first 3rd Gen still and starting to pick up little stuff here and there for it. I am wanting to order some bolts for my Jeep anyway so I thought I'd grab the spindle to strut bolts too. The best I can tell is they are M16 x 2.00 x 70mm. Does that sound about right on the length? My choices are 65mm, 70mm or 75mm

Thanks!

Re: Strut to spindle bolt size?

If you're going to be buying a lot of fasteners, you're going to need a way to ID them, like caliper and thread gauges. There are a lot of options.

They are M16 of fine (unknown) threads/mm and length. They are Grade 10.9, IIRC.

As far as length, I recall the rule of thumb is you should have at least 1.5 bolt diameters of thread engagement.

Re: Strut to spindle bolt size?

Are you missing the factory ones? I know a few vendors here sold new replacements but the original bolts seemed more reliable. There were threads here a while ago about the new bolts breaking before reaching proper torque.

I have a couple sets in the garage, ill get some measurements.

We sell a Strut to Spindle Hardware Kit. The hardware in the kit is an upgrade over stock, we have tested them past the 195 ft lb. torque rating with not issues.
