Torque arm bushing or something else?

Hi All!

Monday when driving my 91 TA Vert (126K miles,) (I have all the records, I've had the car almost a year,) going low speed thru the bank drive thru I heard this constant, "clang" that seemed to change with speed.... of course, I only hear it at low speed, because at 60 with the windows up it's inaudible. Definitely a metallic sound. Also heard it when pulling in and out of the inspection bay. No vibration or anything else obvious. If I didn't know better, I would think someone put a zip tie on the driveshaft.
Ideas or best guess? I saw one YT video about a torque arm bushing and that was the noise, exactly.
This weekend I'll jack it up and spin the wheels.

TIA

Likely a bad trans mount but the only way to be certain is to climb under and start investigating.

Agreed... though a poly torque arm bushing may tighten it up...
The poly trans mount seem too hard... let me know if you find a quality rubber trans mount...
Napa use to sell some, but part number no longer works...

Re: Torque arm bushing or something else?

I am going to try this one from Energy Suspension. I have it and the car is going to the shop Wednesday. I will let you know how this works, it labeled as a "softer" Poly and the reviews I read seem to like it and say it isn't as harsh as the red Poly. I am replacing a rubber parts store special that only lasted 2 yrs, I have no idea what brand it was but apparently it was not very well made.

Speaking of torque arm bushing I also purchased the same Black Poly bushing for it and will be replaced along with the trans mount.

That's the hard one... some people ok with it, others not... didn't work for me...
