Ball Joint doesn't fit right

I have my ball joints replaced a couple months ago, and had one break, then the same (new) one loosen WAY up TWICE (like, the castle nut, not the joint itself).

I took a look at it yesterday, and it was loose again, since the shop tightened it up 3 weeks ago. Turns out, the castle nut sits way too low on the "bolt." It can loosed way up, before it get's near the cotter pin.

Hence, why it keeps loosening way up. The cotter pin does no good, until it's already so loose it's dangerous.

I have NO idea why this is. Is there supposed to be a huge washer or spacer there or something??

sounds like they used the wrong castle nut. some are short, some taller. just get a taller nut and torque it down .you should be ok.
