I got the rear end suspension overhaul done last weekend. I installed Founders control arms ad Panhard bar with greasable poly bushings, Moog CC635 springs, KYB AGX shocks. I'm going to do the front next and will probably stick with the stock type bushings. I was looking around for parts and found these aftermarket control arms complete with new bushings and ball joint.

They don't look exactly like the stock part, but if they fit they would save a lot of time and effort over rebuilding and repainting the original arms.
Anyone have any experience with these, good, bad, neutral?

The one pictured will not work. Not with out a lot of fab work.

Its pretty simple to change the bushings and ball-joints. Places like AutoZone will loan you the tools for the ball-joints. The bushings are easy. Just drill the rubber out and they come right out. Put in your new bushings and your good to go.

I just read that ad better. It says it's an upper control arm!!!

Now I don't trust that site at all. Our cars don't have upper control arms.

I have the tools. I've done the control bushings on several cars before. I wouldn't exactly call it an easy job. I found one place that will sell and ship a set of those Mevetech arms for $200. If I could find a set of direct fit control arms with new bushing, ball joints, and painted, it would be well worth it to me If they were as good as the originals. These don't look like they are as stout as the original arms, especially were they mount to the k-frame.

Yeah, I saw that too. I just posted that like because the had good pix of the part. If you do a web search you'll se a lot of places listing the same part as a lower front control arm for the 1982-92 Camaro, Firebird.

If they are that same part as pictured I know it will be more fab work getting that part to work than rebuilding your own and cost more with unknown parts.

Rebuilding yours with Moog ball-joints and Del-A-Lums would be about the same price and 50 times better. Use quality bushings instead of the Del-A-Lums and it will be way under $100 and take about an hour longer to do the job than just replacing them? I make damn good money but nothing close to $100 an hour.

I used Mevotech control arms on my son's 1996 Cougar. They seemed decent until I had to do some more front end work on his car a few months later. The ball joint boot looked like it already dried out and started to crack. I won't use them again.

My local machine shop charged about $25 to press in my bushings.
