Strut mount explanation?

I'm slowly replacing my original equipment with new and better than stock stuff and I'm looking at the front suspension now. I know the way to go is a solid spherical bearing mount but I have a question about them. When I first looked I saw ones like the UMI that are two way adjustable. I always assumed this meant the caster would be set and 'locked' and the other adjustment would be for camber. However, from another thread, and looking more closely I see it's the caster that's adjustable without loosening the whole mount. That seems backwards as I thought it would be the camber that would be adjusted more often. I've seen other car types with similar mounts that have the 4 smaller bolts for example that only allow the camber to change. If you need to loosen the whole mount to adjust the camber then what's the point of the 2 way adjustability? I've seen a KYB mount that has a bearing but no higher mounting to allow for lowered cars and it's less than $60 per side. Is it fully solid like UMI for example or still mounted in rubber?
As for making it easy to adjust camber without changing the caster I'm thinking when I get there of attaching some sort of guide to the top of the strut tower so the mount can slide in/out against it as required. But I haven't heard of that being done so is it pointless? Of course I could be over thinking things and missing something basic but so far I've only read up on this and not actually done it before.

If you are not aligning the caar yourself then don;t worry about it. The alignment tech will probably not bother using the extra adjustments anyways since enough exists underneath in the OEM specs to ge the car to a factory alignment. Caster is not a problem on the cars, camber issues are.

From what I assume, I think the KYB mounts are basically rubber bushing factory replica's- if they are they are still crap. These cars respond terrifically to aftermarket solid bearing mounts like Spohns sperical bearing units.

eidt to add info- I did just confrirm the KYB are nothing more than factory crappy replacement units. One of the best things you can do in steering response under braking and cornering loads is get rid of that crap and go to the Spohn units.
