How to put a camaro on a tow truck

Hi,
After searching for hours, I haven't found the answer of my problem.
I moved to a new town in December, but my 92 RS is still in my previous home.
Now it's time to bring back my car to the new home.
But the engine doesn't start, so I need to rent tow truck.
My question is how to put the car on the truck?
I don't find a hook under the front of the car.
Where can I hang the hook of the rope to load the car on the truck without destroying the front bumper fascia, especially the front ground effect?

When your car fail, how does the repairman load your car on his truck?
From the front or from the rear of the camaro?

You really need a roll back. Or they have trucks that pick the car by the front wheels iirc. There is no hook in the front of the car you can tow with.

Flatbed it with the car facing the rear. A flatbed should be able to extend far enough out to keep any gfx from scraping during loading. If not, some blocking and ramps under the front wheels should get the nose away from the ground enough.

Use a flat bed and the tow company should have a strap deal that goes over the tires and straps to the bed. You should always haul a vehicle forward on a flatbed. They can pull it on the bed with the winch and large j-hooks through the a-arms. I used to do towing.

My line of thinking for facing the rear is the cable for the winch has much more clearance to the GFX if you hook up to the rear end. I can see it doing some damage to the chin spoiler while loading and unloading if you pull it on forward facing.
I guess if it comes down to it, you can pull the chin spoiler. But depending on the condition of the bolts and captive nuts, it may be difficult.
The truck that lifts the car by the tires may be ok, but then you have to worry about every bump going down the road, versus just when you are loading and unloading. Which is done at a controlled pace.

Your not wrong in any way. I said "you should" tow a vehicle forward. Only reason being wind resistance. Best example is if you tow a minivan backwards you will most likely have the rear side windows pop open and break off. It really depends how far your going and what the speeds are between A and B.

Why not try a car hauler trailer with a come along or a portable winch. You can rent a really nice trailer from U-haul one way.

Re: How to put a camaro on a tow truck

Is there any truth about towing with the rear wheels on the ground will damage a 700r4 trans. ?

Re: How to put a camaro on a tow truck

I had an alternator/battery die about 30 miles from home at night. The roll-back flatbed tow truck winched it up on the bed from the front and used straps around the a-arms and rear axle to hold it down.. The was no damage to the front spoiler or to any other part of the car. That said, my car isn't lowered and the operator was especially careful putting it on and taking it off. I can't say what would happen with a lowered car and a sloppy operator.

This happened to one of my hood louvers. They loaded it backwards and I guess the wind caught it ripped it in half. A couple studs were broken so that gave it just enough leverage to break.

Re: How to put a camaro on a tow truck

Use a roll-back truck and load it facing forward. Hook the winch cable to the factory tow points with the small t-hooks. The tow brackets are the metal tabs hanging off of the front subframes with the oval holes. This method will put a little upward pressure on the front facia but that is what the factory intended. Secure the rear with the same kind of t-hooks in the rear frame rails. Use the oval holes that have the doubling plate on the bottom of the rails. That's what they are for. The large j-hooks over the axle is the wrong way and can easily damage brake lines, sway bars, etc. Every car on the road has provisions for towing it from the factory.

Yes. Unless you pull the drive shaft it will destroy the transmission. There's no way for the trans to lubricate itself, when the motor isn't running to drive the pump.
