LCARB questions

Looking into rebuilding the rear suspension this winter... So far I have acquired new Koni Yellow shocks and Moog 5665 springs.

Next up is the sway bar bushings and possibly a new rear lower control arm and LCARBS.

I have no intention of slamming my car, but from what I am gathering is even at stock height a benefit can be had with the relocation brackets because of the instant center location on a hard launch. The ZZ4 conversion package that was sold 10 plus years ago comes to mind ...

Questions:

So, when it comes to LCARBS there seems to be a choice between weld and bolt on. Is it possible to get bolt on now then weld it later ?

At a later date I plan on getting SFC'S .... Will the be a possible compatibility issue with a specific brand?

Are there brands that I need to be careful not to buy from?

Thanks!

Re: LCARB questions

i put all umi under my car, sfc, lca, lcarb, pnhrdbr, and wonderbar and havent looked back since. i hear BMR has good stuff but i heard enough people cut up SPHOON, and im sure they have there reasons why

with my umi set up, if i were to find a negative part of the parts id say the only thing that wasnt a bolt in, was the wonder bar, i had to slightly enlarge the hole but that was minor

imo id just get the weld in ones, you can still reuse the stock position plus like 2 more areas

Re: LCARB questions

You can bolt-on the bolt-on LCARBs then just get them welded later whenever you want to. And I like that they add additional support to the lower shock mount. Does it need more support? Probably not, but more can't hurt.

As for SFCs.....I prefer, and have, the Alston's from TDS. They are the only ones that truly attach to the rear subframes. The BMR/UMI/Spohn SFCs all attach near the rear subframe, but not to it.

So what brand of LCARBS do you have? I was definitely leaning towards bolt on LCARBS and Alston SFC'S

I actually don't have LCARbs now. I did have Spohns decades ago when I was half my age now & into drag racing (and before bolt-ons were even invented). I don't drag race these days & actually enjoy wheelspin for playing around. If/When I get some though, I'm gonna get the ones from Founders.
