SFC Question. Also Need Pics.

SFC Question. Also Need Pics.
I'm looking at either getting the jegster bolt-on sub frame connectors, or
the competition engineering ones (part# CEE-3111). I'm planning on using them with the alston bolt-in connectors.
I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with some close-up pics of
the jegsters where they mount at the front. I know the general area, but I'd
like to see exactly where on the pan they'll bolt up. I tried searching, but
couldn't find any pics showing the the mounting points well. Also, if someone
could let me know how big the gap is between the subframe connectors and
the floor pan, and between the connectors and the rocker panel for each
brand, that would be great.
The reason I ask is because I did some patch work last summer on the
driver's side and I used a long piece of angle iron from a bed frame for added
support of the new sheet metal along the pinch weld, so I need to know if
that will interfere with the SFCs. The other thing is that I need to know where
the jegsters connect compared to where my patches are.
One last thing: is it worth the trouble to run the four bolts on the competition
SFCs into the pan along the pinch weld, since the pans are such thin gauge?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I can't respond because I have Hotchkis. However, the best thing to do is go onto the manufacturers web site and view the install directions in advance. I printed mine up and studied in advance; specifically the areas that needed to be welded.

i bought the jegster brand about a year or 2 ago, and im pleased with them. i could only find one pic right now, but if nobody helps you, tomorrow ill get a few shots for ya. i thought they fit great. after i bolted em on, i welded em in. i also bought a pack of theyre roll-bar gussets and added them here and there. if i remember, the front bracket bolts up at about the deepest part of the floorboard.? i think i tacked the pinch welds in a few spots too? i ran a bead around the LCA mount also.

man, i just realized i didnt get the pinch welds on the drivers side! they are close though and i could have done a better job of mounting them. pretty close though. i was kinda busy today and didnt get the best pics. my fault. but heres a few anyway. just some ugly welds from at home with a cheap harbor freight flux core.

That helps quite a bit; I actually want some space between the SFC and pinch welds on the driver's side because of the piece of angle iron in there I think I'll need about a 3/8 to 1/2 inch gap all the way down the pinch weld when it's all said and done. Based on your setup, do you think that's possible (especially at the back)? I'd probably need close to that between the SFC and the floor pans, too, but I don't think that will be an issue based on other pics I've seen.
The Pics of the floorboards under the carpet help a lot. I hate to keep bothering you, but if you get a chance, could you snap a shot of that point from underneath? It's a lot easier for me to reference the undercarriage since my interior's together atm. I'm not planning on doing this for a month or so yet, so no rush. I'm just trying to do some research so I know what direction I'm going when I get there. I appreciate the help.

Re: SFC Question. Also Need Pics.
If he can't do it, I can get a couple of pics in the morning. I just finished bolting up the rear of the SFCs yesterday (whomever did what to the rearend left the rears hanging loose after reinstalling the rear axle) and my interior in the 88 is completely bare. I need to lift the front of the car anyways to swap out the front suspension to the other car so I can get some decent pics of the front of each of the SFCs. Granted, I don't know who made them (bought the car with lots of goodies attached worth almost as much as I paid for it ), but they're bolt-on.
Oh, and what exactly are the small bolts in the bottom of the rear flanges for? The holes are empty on mine and it makes me believe I'm missing something under there (wouldn't surprise me with all of the other surprises I'm dealing with under there).

Sounds like you got a good deal; it's always nice when those things work out like that, lol.

Re: SFC Question. Also Need Pics.
Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but I was so worn out after fighting with both front suspensions yesterday that all I wanted to do last night was sleep...
These should give you at least an idea of where the holes are. The bolts are covered in Duplicolor Bed Armor on the interior side (I haven't gotten underneath to clean up yet with my grinder so I could do under there as well), so they might be a little hard to see. Oh, and, obviously, my driver's side front floor pan has been replaced in a half-baked manner by obviously the same guy that decided to pull the rearend by cutting all of the lines attached to it (yes, INCLUDING the parking brake cables which are still dangling under there) and even the ones that weren't... But the underside pic should give you an idea where the bolts are on the driver's side in relation to the frame.

Thanks Maverick, that helps quite a bit. I wasn't on much yesterday anyways; I've been working on patching the wheel wells this weekend. Unfortunately it was my daily driver for four years, and these Michigan winters took their toll. Still debating on which way I want to go for perimeter style ones, but once I finish patching the wheel wells I'll be looking into getting the alstons. I'm gonna have to do them in stages, since I've got some other expenses besides this to take care of.
Btw, how big is the gap between the pinch weld and the SFCs? just an estimate is fine, not worth crawling under there just for that, lol. Thanks again!

Re: SFC Question. Also Need Pics.
That gap is about a finger's width (when I decide to straighten out the FUBARed pinch welds, lol).
I hear you on the wheel wells... Rear portion of both of them on the passenger's side in the 88 have holes . At least you don't have to fix the driveshaft tunnel because someone forgot to tighten/locktite the driveshaft flange loops and had the driveshaft try to eat its way into the car .

Anyone have similar info on the Comp Engineering SFCs?
