Cutting Moroso trick springs
Anyone have any experience with cutting these springs? I just put a set in I bought that were used, should have all of the settle out of them. My car now sits about 1 1/2" higher then before the swap. How much did you cut and how much did it drop when you cut them? I really don't want this to be an over and over type job so I'd like to do it one time. I'd like to get back to where I was or an inch lower.

This is off the subject a little but did you have trouble getting the springs in there with mine it was a battle. I need to do it again because I was stupid, stupid, stupid and didn't replace the lca bushings the first time.

I used a Snap-On Branic spring compressor. You definitely have to compress them down a long way but it wasn't too bad. I do have a lift so it makes it easier.

This is the coil spring comnpressor I have. You slide the fork in the lower spring coils and clamp it all down. I ued an impact gun and ran it down as tight as possible. The stud in the center was at the top of the spring. The only thing that I would do different is possibly use a short pipe nipple on the threaded part at the bottom to shorten up the threaded part. If you compress more then I did the threads hit the frame at the center of the spring cup. Either that or drill a hole in the spring cup in the frame.

Wow I been looking for a heavy duty spring compressor that would handle the high lift springs easier. Thanks for posting the picture, the one I was using with the impact was starting to straighten out the hooks by the time I had them compressed enough. I was getting really nervous and didn't want to use that compressor again.

I've used them all and this is the strongest I've ever used. I've had this for about 30 years and it's been lent out countless #'s of times. Don't get me wrong holding a compressed spring like this as you put it in the A arm is still exciting.
